Skills each item in my portfolio demonstrates and how
they relate to my instructors and my own goals:
· Each prompt has demonstrated a different skill I have acquired over my years of English class. ‘The Perfect Break’ demonstrates that I am strong with using imagery in my writing, Bella and Me shows that I have a great imagination, The BB book promp response as well ass the sneetches and K. Mooney responses demonstrate that I am able to make good connections. These skills help to reach my instructors goals because they help me reach my own goals. My own goal is to be the best writer I can be.
How individual items in my portfolio are related and what I have learned about each assaignment in the context of my entire portfolio:
· All of my work is related by their author, however the three most closely related works are the one's based off of Dr. Seuss's novels. I have learned that I have a lot of progress to make before I am ready for college.
How comments and revisions have helped my work:
· These comments have taught me how to be an over all better writer and have improved my writings.
How my writing has specifically changed throughout the course and what skills I will continue to work on:
· In my 'The Perfect Break' writing, I mixed my first and second person tense every other sentence without realizing what i was doing. Now I know to be careful to maintain one point of view throughout my stories.
Items in my portfolio that best exhibit my development as a writer and new insight that I have made:
· 'The Perfect Break' is my best writing by far and the fact that I did not have to revise that a whole lot really displays my developement as a writer and shows how I am able to write quality work once I put my mind to it. My editor for four of my writing was English Professor Mourine from Tidewater Community College. Mrs. Maurine reviewed and revised my work like a college student and reading some of her positive comments about my writings is what best exhibits my progress as a writer.
